It has been far too long since I've written last. Far too much has gone on in the time that has elapsed. On September 11th, two planes hit the World Trade Towers and sent them crashing to the ground. Over 5,000 people are missing in the rubble, but no one has been uncovered for the past week. The morning of the disaster, Kevin's mom called, completely frantic. She definitely thought Kev and I were at risk, even though we were at my apartment in midtown. Then, throughout the rest of the day, I seriously got 50 or more voice mails or phone calls, not to mention many MANY e-mails from people hoping that I was safe. I looked outside, and I witnessed the exodus of people moving uptown from lower Manhattan. Some had soot all over them, some had masks on their faces, some were just looking extremely forlorn, but NO ONE was speaking. The city was quiet for days. Two days later, there started to be a bit of activity, but still, no one would speak. It was surreal. Even though Kevin was still at my place, I agreed to go with Sammy and Jon on a little roadtrip to Michigan, simply to escape the aftermath. It was supposed to be a week-long roadtrip, but this is more like a week and a half. I'm still in Michigan, currently at Erica's. This week, I did the student org. thing... went to FunKtion auditions and callbacks (I led WARM-UPS, what is that?!?... I loved it, though), I went to Greenie auditions, I chatted with old friends, I'm going to Erica's house party this Friday, etc. And to top it all off, I've gotten a lot of calls (well, relatively a lot) for job interviews in New York City. Today, I got one at Cravath, Swain, and Moore (I guess Amy Lin came through)... we'll see what happens. Maybe I should buy a new suit or something.
