Okay, so months ago, I came up with this "perfect day" sort of scheme (note: I came up with this notion when I was unemployed.). On this perfect day, I would go to work, maybe work a few hours of overtime, find out about an acceptance to a law school, and then go and celebrate at a bar/lounge with some friends. Well, that's pretty much what I did today. Worked until around 9, went to an after work sort of bar with some peepz from work, then got a voicemail from Mandisa... I got me a big envelope from U-M Law School... my second acceptance. I'm thrilled, I don't know what to do, my life is falling into place...

So I've just decided that I'm really anxious to see another really beautiful day. That's why I need to be in Miami right now rehearsing. That's why I NEED to get into a law school in Cali. Nice days. Yes. That's it.

Dancing is great. I've pretty much finished my choreography for alumni dance @ Dance Mix 2002. I still have to videotape it... But for all those people who have choreographed before out there... you know how your ideas change maybe every minute? Every time I dance through the choreography, just to teach it to myself so I can actually do it all in a row on camera, I think something is dumb or I think of something better. I'm just worried the dance won't flow as nicely as I had hoped if I keep changing it. And I KNOW people will have dope ideas about minor (maybe major) changes in my choreography that we'll have to use, so it's not like this is how it's going to end up forever... I'm just sayin'.
MIAMI MIAMI MIAMI!!!!

So basically, I've come to a conclusion. I don't love work. I definitely don't. It's not really... well, this entire working for money thing isn't really me. How profound is that?
There is one good thing, though. I think that one reason I was in student organizations in college was that I really wanted to be busy. Things that take up time for a purpose are great... and a lot of the time, I don't think I really worried about what the purpose was, I just wanted to work for it. So in a way, having a job is great... I can stay busy pretty much all day (with short breaks throughout when I can... well, I can do stuff like this) and get paid for it. That can't be ALL bad.
And another thing... can we talk about how money has been running through my pockets like water? I just bought both my ticket to Miami/Detroit and my ticket back to Columbus yesterday. I want to pay of my credit card debt (it's still pretty ridiculous), so that's lots of money right there. Then that really inconvenient check I have to write for rent every month doesn't really do it for me, either. It's not like I'm broke, but I feel as though I'm coming close. MONEY MANAGEMENT, AMIT!!! LEARN IT!!! Pity I don't take my own advice so often.

What a great past 24 hours this has been! Yesterday, I got home from work right around this time... Disa, Anne, Radha, and Joe were all getting ready for our New Year's Pre-Party/Fondue Fest, Erin and Alka were at their other friends' place, and everyone was in a great mood. We set up for the event (Anne pretty much doing all the work... thanks, Anne!)... When people started arriving, we were pretty much all ready to go. While everyone else was sporting their big-city-sheek look, I had the obnoxious cowboy thing going... fun times. We were taking pictures with everyone, everyone was in the best of moods. Then I went over to mess with my coat, when I hear Mandisa saying something about how it's someone's birthday very soon. I came around the corner, and they had a CAKE for me! It was the nicest thing maybe ever. Angie and I shared the moment... it WAS, after all, her birthday on the 31st and then mine on the 1st.
Anyway, then me, Steve, Martin, Disa, Anne, Joe, Radha, Alka, and Erin headed off the Metronome. It was fantastic. There was good music spinnin', the drinks were flowin', there was food everywhere. The crowd was cool enough, but it didn't matter because the group we were with was a party on it's own. We all danced the entire night away, pretty much non-stop. The DJ was feelin' the MJ, which was dope for all of us. Then Martin, Steve, and I met up with Angie, Louis, and friends (at great risk to ourselves... we attempted to catch a cab, none would stop, we went to the subway station, waiting a full 20-30 minutes for the train... ridiculous) at this other place near Cravath. It was a big Asian party, we started to have a good time, but then they decided the party was over. Sad, I know. So since the night ended like that, we decided to take a limo home. It was freezing, and once again, there were no cabs stopping. Whatever, it was worth it.
I woke up around noon, hangover-free... I helped clean our apartment, and some of us went to a diner and ate maybe the best brunch ever. Now we're at home... I'm chillin' hardcore. They rented Legally Blonde, which is officially one of my favorite movies, I'm gonna maybe read some of a book, and then Leslie and Karina, etc., are taking me to a korean restaurant somewhere. Yay Be Bim Bop. Happy Birthday to me, is all I've gotta say about that.
So... a big ol' THANK YOU to all of you who came out and celebrated the big 2-3 with me... I really had the best time I've had in a really long time!
