So, a lot has happened in the past week.

Last Friday, I met up with a BUNCH of people in Miami... for some fun, sun, and dance rehearsal. Going to "Got Soul?" Crew's first rehearsal was crazy... it was incredible seeing everyone dance together again. We rehearsed all week, got some good sun time in, went out (had no issues getting in anywhere, just because of the one and only Sam Sneed)... then we headed up to Michigan the following Wednesday. Dance Mix 2002 was this past Friday... it was incredible. I haven't seen a tape of the performance yet, but I know we did a good job. I messed up once, and I had a hard time getting my shoe off at the end, so that was kind of embarrassing. Whatever, I'm over it. Regardless, the entire show was incredible... funKtion and 2XS kicked ass... I'm so proud of them.

Another thing... Mikki, Erica, AND TAL all were at the show. That kind of made my day.

And now the bad stuff... this afternoon, I was talking to Mandisa, and she told me that some small envelopes came from Stanford and Berkeley... undoubtedly rejections. We don't know this for sure, but Mandisa is pretty sure the Stanford one is a rejection and can't tell about the Berkeley one. This was a bit difficult to handle. I KNOW that I shouldn't be so upset because I have already gotten into a lot of great schools, but Stanford was my dream school, and Berkeley was my semi-realistic dream school, and I was really hoping for atleast one of them. So, the point of the matter is that now I'm sad and don't know what to do with myself. Bleh.

I have to pack.

I'm way too stressed considering I'm about to take my first vacation since September.

A few things:

a) I'm going to be in New York City for the next 3 years. It's pretty much a done deal. I haven't heard from Stanford yet, and c'mon, really, what are my chances of getting into a law school from where people, whose numbers that are above my own, have already been rejected. But then I'm thinking that I'm on some random waitlist that they don't like telling people about, and they're just going to reject me (or accept me? Maybe? Please? Please?) in late April. Regardless, I've accepted Columbia's offer for admission. So... who else is gonna be out here that would wanna chill?

b) We (Leslie, Lynn, Angie, and I) had a rehearsal for Dance Mix yesterday... it was really good, really productive. Learned all of Anna's stuff, reviewed my stuff, Leslie's stuff, Angie's stuff, & Steve's stuff. We've still got Hong's and Sam's stuff to learn. I don't really like my choreography... of course, who EVER likes their own choreo? I want to keep changing it... I've gotta make some final decisions on it sometime soon, though.

c) We (Leslie, Lynn, Angie, Randall, Gerard, Jon, Peggy, and I) all sat down to watch Lauryn's Unplugged, and then switched to the 9/11 tribute/special. It was pretty much heartwrenching. Remember that picture of the firefighters taking the dead priest from the destroyed towers? Well, seeing that priest walking around, praying, trying to make eye contact with the firefighters, doing what he could... and then knowing that he was the "first" casualty of 9/11... wow. I don't know... But then, later in the night, on our way back to the city from Jersey City, we saw the rays of hope (that's what they're called, right) emanating from the hole where the WTC used to be. It was beautiful. It's officially been 6 months since Osama terrorized this nation, and what's left is what we can remember.

d) Moving back a little... on Saturday, I was at work from noon until around 9:30pm. I should've stayed for a bit longer, but one thing made me want to leave. Basically, for the past few days, I had been creating this database for this pro-bono case some of my firm's attorneys have been working on... the case involves the life-insurance claims of people who died on 9/11. Before I left, I saw a roster of people (next to their total financial net worth) who died in the specific "loss occurrence" events in question... in this case, WTC 1 & 2, and the AA flights in NYC and PA. Horrible.

e) That's all. I just couldn't end this blog with the word "horrible." And so I won't.
