I'm leaving in a little under 12 hours for Ohio. Then, on the 17th, I'm starting my drive cross-country. Gonne see Hongshin, Jon, Julie, Tal, Stef, Irene, Nancy, maybe George, maybe Dowai, and lots and lots of other people. I'm mad excited. Something, though, is making me feel somewhat uneasy. I don't know what it is. Maybe I don't feel as though I've prepared myself well enough for this trip. Or maybe it's because when I come back, I only have a few days before I move uptown to Columbia. One chapter is kind of ending with this trip. It's one last hurrah, I guess, packed into 2 weeks of non-stop driving.
Hey everyone... call me on my cell during my trip. I'm gonna be on the road from the 17th until the 20th, and then again from the 27th until the 30th or 31st. I'll either be listening to music, books on CD/tape, or singing to myself in a last ditch effort to keep myself entertained.
Oh, and for those of you in Cali, here's the schedule (still rather tentative, but hopefully we'll be sticking to it.)...
Arriving in LA the afternoon of the 20th, staying with Tal.
Picking up my friend Amy Yeung (who will be accompanying me for the remainder of my time in California) from LAX in the late morning, starting the drive up the coast to San Fran... gonna either stay in a hotel or crash with Nancy, Stef, or Irene.
22nd - Northern Cali.
23rd - Drive down to San Diego, stay with Hongshin until the 25th or 26th
25th or 26th - get back to LA, chill with lots of fun people, leave on the 27th or 28th.
Get back to Ohio by the 31st, because this kid has got a plane to catch the morning of the 1st.
And then I'll be back in NYC.
Now you know everything about it.
Hope everyone in NYC has an incredible two weeks while I'm gone (I know, hard to believe it'll happen with me here...). Call me often!

My last day of work was last Tuesday, July 2nd.
Thank. God.
No, seriously, I have had the best time since. Despite the ultimate loss of financial independence that is creeping up on me quite expeditiously, life has been great. I've gone out with friends like mad, caught up on my reading, figured out stuff for next year, done random errands which I just haven't had the time nor the willpower to do, etc. On top of that, July 4th week/weekend and come and gone, so of course, there were festivities. There was a big BBQ at my place... from noon until 2am. Lots of random groups of people... kind of hard to integrate them all. Made me tired. Made Mandisa tired, too. Then on Sunday, Babbs and Steve decided to surprise us all my showing up out of the blue. Completely random. Regardless, we ended up having a big BBQ at Sam's place(i.e. unnecessarily large apartment) all day Monday, equipped with great burgers, ice cream, and cranium. That night, we ended up at Kush for some harsh hookah madness.
Items of note:
a) I've just discovered the tons of people who are in NYC now... I mean, the incredible amounts of people I didn't already know were here... Leena, Rob, Avani, etc... love it.
b) When does one start growing apart from their college friends? I don't mean, liking people any less... I mean, when is it that the experiences after college, involving non-college people, start to outweigh the experiences in college or experiences with college people? When does that next stage begin, and who's gonna warn me when it does?
c) Everyone knows people who are getting married, having kids, etc... hell, people I know got married during high school, had kids during high school, etc. But doing all that then was kind of taboo, you know. Now, my peers are getting married and having kids, and it's making more sense. It's simultaneously weird and not at all out of the ordinary. When did things change as such?
d) DDT's are good.
