classes start tomorrow.
are you serious?!?
Yes.
8:45am-5pm every day this week... a mandatory class for 3Ls all about professional ethics.
So much reading still left to do... must be done (and papers need to be written) before tomorrow morning.
Going to see The Frogs (at Lincoln Center) tomorrow... anyone heard good things about it?

You know, starting my 3rd year in law school in a few days, I just wanted to give a shout out to some of my friends who have just started on this miraculous journey that is a legal education... Erica F., Palak S., Tyra S., Lisa H. ... get ready. You have no idea what's next... but you'll do fine. In the famous words of Stefanie Liang (via postcard and e-mail after my first set of midterms my first year)... "Remember how excellent you really are. Don't let law school let you forget that. Kick ass on your first final. And the one after that. And the one after that. And if you don't, that's ok. Everyone still loves you... and law school ain't shit."
God love that Stef.

Did you know that if you go to Bloomingdale's in NYC and go to the visitors counter, telling them that you're from out of state, you get this little card that gives you 11% off all merchandise for the entire day? No lie, it's been confirmed.
Could someone confirm or deny the following?... One must be an amateur athlete to compete in the Olympics. (I feel that this may be figure-skating/Ice-Capades specific)
If I were to be in the Olympics, I would be in the men's 3M synchronized diving event. No, I'm not kidding. If it were co-ed, Megan would be my partner... We decided that we'd be good at that.

Wow. I'm losing motivation to do any sort of academic work ALREADY... and classes don't even start until Monday.
I will not spend New Years 2005 in Vegas.

I'm at Starbucks, and the new school year is looming.
Never have I not wanted to go back to school.
No, really, I'm not kidding. I've always looked forward to starting the new school year... and not even for the "Oooh, I get new school school supplies" reason... I just have always enjoyed the entire starting-new-classes thing, the getting-to-know-new-people thing, the getting-back-in-touch-with-old-friends thing...
But now... now that I've had an amazing summer at an amazing firm with amazing people... now that I've spent a bunch of time rehearsing with phenomenal dancers learning phenomenal choreography... now that I've learned that I'll be going BACK to that life beginning October 2005 (without as much alcoholic behavior on the firm's behalf), I've realized how DONE with school I am... and how law school doesn't drive me at all. Yuck.
This is not a thing to come to terms with as I'm sitting here for the first time this summer, trying to get through reading for the first week of classes. And hey, can we talk about that 30 page seminar paper that's about 9 months past due? Yeah. Go Amit. At least this is my last year. Heather, say it with me... ONE YEAR LEFT!

It's official.
Next October, two months after I've taken the New York State Bar Exam, I will be an attorney at the NYC office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
The hiring partner gave my entire summer class offers. How amazing is that?!?
Tonight is the big Got Soul NY show at Joe's Pub. Meet me there... let's celebrate.

this is simultaneously the longest and shortest week of my life.

hey now, it's August 5th, and I still haven't found my sunglasses. Boo.
Vegas was aiite. Helen and JB were there... they had to put up with my non-Vegas, virtually non-gambling self... and I love them for it. Three cheers for Helen and JB. Buy them a round.
Work is winding down... next Friday (the 13th!) is my last day (as well as the night of the Got Soul NY performance at Joe's Pub)... The offer or non-offer may come the same day... the best or worst 5 minutes of the year. What a night that could be, though.
I love my co-workers. Love them.
Karaoke and rehearsal tonight. Hate karaoke. Love rehearsal.
I think I've gained 20 lbs or something from all the eating and drinking I've done this summer. Not good. The two weeks between work and school, people must remind me to live at the gym.
Goodbye.
