Things are picking up.

Maybe it's because I just went away to Ann Arbor for the weekend and ignored the fact that I had a shitload of work I was leaving behind.

Whatev.

My trip to AA was pretty great... true, Michigan won the game against Iowa, I got to go to Charley's and consume lots of bahama-mamas and count twists, I met some new dancer folks (and re-met others... sorry Andre, I'm a dick!)... but the greatest thing was that I got to meet Mia (Mikki's baby) and Isaiah (Annalisa & Eric's baby)... they're so adorable, I can't even stand it! Oh, I also discovered that I'm not a complete disaster with kids! One day I'll post a pic of me holding Mia, and Mia is laughing! I'm a star!

Okay, I should start paying attention in class... gah.

I feel like I did when I was a senior in college... When I felt that my grades didn't matter, so I ended up doing better... when I was over-committed to the point that I was more on top of my shit. It feels nice.

I say this as I'm sitting in class for which I haven't done my reading... I have a feeling I'm going to get called on. Damn that Socratic Method!

Attempting to start a self-imposed detox is hard. For example... I tried to start one the Saturday before the week of JonG and Palak (also called Labor Day weekend), but that didn't work. Then I figured I'd start one officially after they left. Hey now, tonight I just broke my own rules.

Geez this is hard.

Okay, for those who may care, I'm coming into Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Iowa game! I'll be there from 6pm on Friday, 9/24, until the following Sunday night at 9pm.
Can't wait to see everyone...

So excited. So.

So, just one of those weird chance encounters...

I was walking out of my ethics class after a full day of negotiations (whoa, that sounded almost interesting) with two classmates... we walked down the stairs and out the door... I held the door to the stairwell open for them, and then continued to hold the door for this other dude who was close behind. When I'm about to follow them out, he stops, turns to me and says, "Um, did you go to Harvard Summer School?" "Um, yeah, I did." "What's your name?" "Amit." "Yeah, I thought so... I was your roommate."

WHAT? One of my three roommates from the summer of 1995 who I neither spoke to during that summer nor spoke with since is randomly starting at Columbia Business School and I randomly run into him and he remembers me? Who remembers random folks from that long ago? That's amazing, I wish I could do that on command.

This week is almost over... No more Profession of Law class after this... Ethics are good to think about, but so tedious to learn... especially for 3L's that no longer have an attention span... at all.
