So I walk into my office this morning only to find that my laptop, which I had left sitting on my desk on Friday night, was missing. At first I thought that my officemate had hidden it somewhere for safe keeping (wishful thinking, clearly), but then soon realized that while it's quite pleasant to stay absolutely ignorant to the obvious, reality will take over eventually. My work computer was absolutely gone, and all I could do was sit and laugh. I sort of couldn't believe it happened... We have security in the building... I actually have to swipe my card, the security folks look at my picture, then look at me, then back to my picture, then I'm allowed in. But a complete stranger is allowed in, apparently hassle-free, takes two laptops (oh yeah, my officemate's was stolen as well), and mosies out the front door. Yeah, I don't understand.
